You do not need to wait for your ID Card by mail to start using your dental plan immediately. Within moments after joining, you are sent a temporary dental plan ID via e-mail.
Print this ID and take (along with a picture ID) to your first dental office visit. On this temporary ID is a "Member Verification" telephone number, should the dental office wish to call to verify your new dental plan membership.
Fast Start Tip 1. When making your first appointment with a Plan Dentist, please verify that the dental office is a current CAREINGTON Dental Plan provider.
Fast Start Tip 2. Let the dental office know that you have joined the CAREINGTON Plan "Care 500 Series." This is important, because this plan offers the best savings. (Don't be confused. The "Care 500 Series" dental plans vary by state, Care 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, etc., based on regional cost-of-living and other factors.)
We suggest you print a copy of the Schedule of Discounts and take it with you on your first visit. Be sure you are being billed properly, because this is CAREINGTON's best discount dental plan.
Dental Office Visit Checklist... (1) temporary e-mail ID, (2) schedule of discounts, (3) any picture ID.
In 2 to 4 business days, your new member information will be uploaded into the main CAREINGTON Member Service computer system. Your printed Membership material should arrive by mail in about 10 days.
Vision & Rx Plans: You may start using the Vision Plan (included) and Prescription Plan (optional) once your ID cards arrive via mail.
